Downward Spiral is one of my short stories that will appear in the upcoming A-Z Anthology. All stories are being released individually and then as part of an anthology.
Joel Baker's life has just imploded. His girlfriend left him, he has been fired for an innocent mistake, and he has lost his home. At every turn, he is made to feel like a nobody, but not today. Today he is going to be a somebody. Soon, the world will know the name Joel Baker, and after the events of this tragic day, they will never, ever forget him.
When the anthology is available the link will be added.
Kids Volume One
My short story 'The Box' features in this anthology by Dark Chapter Press.
Kids. They laugh, they scream, they play. They're innocent and harmless, cute and cuddly, the apple of their parents' eye.
None of the above applies. Kids can be the joy of a couple's life, but in the world of horror, they are anything but. These kids can kill, and maim; they laugh while you scream and play in the hot blood spilled from your mutilated, shuddering body. They may look cute and cuddly but, on the inside, they're pure and absolute evil.
Kids is an anthology about the devils spawn; children who break all social protocol and scare the living hell out of you. Newborn, toddler, infant, teenager? Kids has them all. Whether they're evil personified or bravely facing evil head on, these children will live long in the memory.
From Dark Chapter Press comes Kids, the first of an exclusive two-part anthology. Featuring eighteen terrifying stories of child-based terror from a whole host of horror talent, the words on these pages will leave you shaking with fear. Featuring a foreword from Ryan C. Thomas, this book isn't suitable for bedtime stories, but it will appeal to the horror readers who like their lore gory, violent, suspenseful, and darkly humorous.
Remember, they're only children. What harm can they do?
My short story 'Trapped' features in this anthology by JEA Wetworks.
You stir early, removing your head from the beaten pillow. Your home is silent. The familiar, everyday noises that introduce you to the beautiful morning are absent. The dog barking, the neighbour's irritating car alarm, the flush of the toilet - all missing. After stumbling down your hallway, stepping into your slippers and avoiding the rug that always attempts to break your neck, you open the front door, adjust your eyes, yawn and... You scream. The world before you is chaos, mayhem, absolute anarchy. No...it's an apocalypse. A zombie apocalypse, where the living dead rule and humans are a tasty, but pesky afterthought. You look to your left and see a group of the undead. Your dog is massacred, mercilessly shredded between them like a sloppy, gore soaked entrée. Their eyes lock onto you. You're dessert. You gulp, pee your pants, panic...what do you do? From JEA Wetworks comes Undead Legacy, an anthology of undead horror. Featuring 23 stories and poems from some of the best writers in the genre today. Whatever your view on the undead - modern, old school, classic, fast, slow - there's something for everyone in Undead Legacy. With two very special forewords from Terry M. West and Richard Laymon artwork aficionado Steve Crisp, Undead Legacy looks to cement its place in horror literature for years to come. After all, a Legacy is timeless...
